Point guard Devin Carter has agreed to join the Boston Celtics for their upcoming training camp as he competes for a coveted spot on the roster or a two-way contract, NBC Sports reports.

Carter's Recent NBA Journey

Carter, a lottery pick from Providence, enters Celtics camp after being waived by New Orleans. He played the last two seasons for the Sacramento Kings, averaging 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists over 38 games in the previous year.

Competition for a Spot

With Boston's 15th roster spot open, Carter will battle for either a standard or two-way contract.
